Artist Statement
My artwork reflects my deep connection to my surroundings, inviting observation and contemplation, while encouraging personal interpretation and connection. My ability to seamlessly merge the boldness of acrylic with the organic flow of watercolor makes my work uniquely captivating. Along with my creative perspective with photography allows me to capture moments of profound beauty and emotion, further complementing my artistic expression by adding another layer of depth and perspective.
In this way, my work acts as a catalyst to create a broader social consciousness around the importance of living positively, mindfully and creating healthy connections in all aspects of life.
ARTIST BIO: Tammy Barton is a Kansas City based artist whose works span from mixed media to paintings and photography. Her style is driven by her intuition and visionary abilities. Tammy's artwork and photography have been featured on the covers of local publications, showcased in gallery showings and found their way into the homes and businesses of private collectors. She earned her Bachelor of Art in Art from William Jewell College and currently owns her own business, Illuminating The Soul. Tammy is a licensed massage therapist, teacher and holistic healer specializing in cranio sacral therapy, intuitive and shamanic healing, reiki, and reflexology. Her art is steeped within her experiences as a healer.
